ATTORNEY BIO

Born in Dallas, Texas, Stacy M. Kirven has lived in Sheridan, Wyoming since she was 6 years old. Stacy received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Criminal Justice and Political Science from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Stacy earned her Juris Doctorate degree in 2.5 years, graduating a semester early from the University of Wyoming College of Law in December of 2014.

Stacy gained experience as an attorney with a local law firm in Sheridan before opening Kirven Law, LLC in January 2019. Stacy has ample experience in representing clients with domestic relations issues, including divorce, establishment of paternity, establishment of custody and visitation, child support, custody modifications, adoption, termination of parental rights, and guardianships. Stacy is known by lawyers around the state for taking complex domestic relation cases that are first impression issues within the Wyoming court system.  In addition to family law, Stacy has expertise in criminal defense matters, immigration issues, workers’ compensation, and appellate issues before Wyoming District Courts and the Wyoming Supreme Court. Stacy is also a certified mediator and mediates family law issues, as well as non-legal matters such as workplace disputes, neighbor disagreements, contract issues, and any other disputes that may arise.  Furthermore, Stacy holds a contract with the Wyoming Office of the State Public Defender to serve as a part-time Assistant Deputy Public Defender in the Sheridan and Buffalo field offices.

Stacy enjoys being involved in the Sheridan community and has served as Vice President of the Sheridan County Bar Association, Secretary on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid of Wyoming, Inc., and Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Sheridan County Dog & Cat Shelter.  Stacy has also served as a guest faculty member for the University of Wyoming College of Law’s Trial Practice Program.

When she is not at the office, you can find Stacy spending time with her husband, three children, golden retriever named Ginsburg, miniature dachshund named Oliver, or riding her Peloton.  Stacy also enjoys traveling and has traveled throughout Europe, spends time in Mexico, and even lived in Africa for a short period of time.

Stacy is licensed in Wyoming State and Federal Courts and Montana State Courts.
